(3) We cannot live without purpose, values, etc.
The tension between (2) and (3) Nishitani sees as an existential problem (called
"nihility") with
a religious solution.
A. The tension between (2) and (3) (or between (1) and (3)) as appropriated "existentially" is a spur to meditation.
B. Our meditation can find (will find?) through nihilism about ourselves (through nihility) a "bottomlessness" where the tension is resolved in "Emptiness" or the "field of emptiness."
